M-Shift can run on any device with color display which supports J2ME
MIDP 2.0; once you have downloaded the M-Shift.jar file from this page to your PC,
send it to your mobile or PDA through infrared, bluetooth or (if you have it) connection cable (the most appropriate
solution to use depends on your device and your PC...).
Before using M-Shift, please make sure to read, understand and agree to its license.
Your goal is to put the numbers in the grid in the correct sequence. To move a number, place the cursor over it (using the joypad or the 2, 4, 6, 8 keys) and press FIRE (or the 5 key) - but beware, only part of the numbers can be moved (the ones marked with an arrow), and each of them can be moved in a predetermined direction only (the direction shown by the arrow).
Numbers "falling off" the edges of the grid automatically reappear at the other end.
M-Shift features include:
- Unlimited number of puzzles;
- Automatic language selection (currently supported: English and Italian);
- Three difficulty levels (Easy, Medium and Difficult);
- Two grid sizes (3x3 and 4x4);
- Automatic saving of game state upon exit;
- Easy customization of many game features (translations, graphics&appearance, grid size) - a detailed guide is coming soon...
The options accessible through the game menu (which you can show by hitting, for example, the # or * key) are:
- Restart: to restart the game from the beginning of the current grid;
- New Puzzle: to create a new grid;
- Options: to show the Options submenu:
- Size: to choose the dimension of the game grid (3x3 or 4x4);
- Level: to choose the difficulty level (Easy, Medium or Difficult);
- Info: to show game information;
- Save&Exit: to quit the game (saving the current puzzle).

You can easily customize the game images, texts (so that you can translate M-Shift in your own language!) and grid dimensions without any programming knowledge: a tutorial is coming shortly!!!
