Some useful image editing tools:
- GIMP, a free, complete, multi-platform image editing application;
- UnFREEz (Windows), tiny program to create animated GIFs.
Images can be sent directly to the cell phone
(to be used as a wallpaper or, depending on phone model, as a screensaver: useful information
can be found in device manual or in the documentation available
from manufacturer websites); or they can be used to create themes,
using different manufacturer-provided tools:
- SonyEricsson users can download SE's
ThemeCreator
(Windows, MacOS), freely available from
SE's website for developers (registration required);
- There is also a Theme Studio (Windows) for Nokia
Series 40 and
Series 60 phones; it can be freely downloaded
from Nokia website for developers (registration required).
